Fixbud

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026 · Written to the requirements of PIPEDA, Canada’s federal privacy law.

Fixbud collects as little personal information as a working product allows, and this page tells you exactly what, why, where it goes, and how to get it deleted. Our privacy contact for everything on this page: hello@fixbud.io.

What we collect, and why

  • •Photos and descriptions of your damage — used once, to identify your vehicle and damage and generate your tutorial. Photos are processed transiently and are not published, sold, or used in advertising.
  • •Your email address — only if you create an account, make a purchase, join the update list, or contact us. Used for sign-in, receipts, delivering support replies, and (with your consent) product updates.
  • •Purchase records — held by our payment processor Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
  • •Generated tutorial copies — retained for quality review, because a human reviews what our AI produces.
  • •Standard technical logs — hosting and error logs from our infrastructure provider, used for keeping the service running.
  • •We do not collect names (unless you give one in a support message), addresses, browsing histories, or advertising identifiers. There are no ad trackers on this site.

Browser storage

  • •We use your browser’s local storage (not tracking cookies) for two things: remembering your free-tutorial count if you use Fixbud as a guest, and keeping you signed in if you use an email account. Clearing your browser data removes both.

Who processes your data

  • •Fixbud runs on trusted service providers, each receiving only what their job requires: Stripe (payments and accounts), Anthropic (AI analysis of your photo and generation of your tutorial), fal.ai (AI image rendering for shopping-list product photos), and Netlify (hosting and form handling). These providers are based in the United States, so information crosses the border for processing — a standard practice that PIPEDA permits with disclosure, which this is.

Your rights

  • •You can ask us at any time to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it — email hello@fixbud.io or use the contact form, and we’ll act on it promptly (deletion of payment records is subject to legal bookkeeping retention requirements that apply to all businesses).

Email consent (CASL)

  • •In line with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation: we only send marketing updates to people who opted in, every such email identifies us and includes a working unsubscribe, and unsubscribing takes effect promptly. Transactional emails (receipts, your tutorial) aren’t marketing and arrive regardless.

Accessibility

  • •We build toward the WCAG accessibility guidelines — keyboard navigation, screen-reader labels, contrast, and read-aloud tutorials. Accessibility gaps are bugs: report them and they get fixed.

Changes

  • •If this policy changes materially, the date above changes and significant updates will be noted on the blog.
