Terms of Use
Last updated: August 2026 · These terms govern your use of fixbud.io and the Fixbud service ("Fixbud", "we", "us").
The plain-English heart of it: Fixbud gives you AI-assembled DIY guidance for cosmetic, non-structural repairs. You do the repair yourself, at your own risk, with your own hands and judgment. If we tell you a job needs a professional, believe us. If a tutorial doesn’t help you, we refund it — that’s our promise, and it’s also the limit of our responsibility.
1. What Fixbud is (and isn’t)
Fixbud generates personalized repair tutorials from a library of written procedures, adapted to your situation by artificial intelligence based on the photos, descriptions, and answers you provide. Fixbud is an informational service. It is not professional automotive repair, inspection, or safety advice, and no tutorial creates a professional-client relationship. Fixbud is currently in beta: our procedures undergo ongoing technical review, and content marked "expert review in progress" has not yet received professional sign-off.
2. Your responsibilities and assumption of risk
You perform all repairs yourself, voluntarily, and at your own risk. DIY work can damage property or cause injury when done incorrectly.
You must follow the safety instructions and warning labels of every product and tool you use — those labels override anything a tutorial says.
If a tutorial refers you to a professional, or if anything feels wrong, beyond your ability, or different from what the tutorial describes — stop.
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you tell us (vehicle, damage, answers). Tutorials are only as correct as the situation described.
You confirm you are at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction, or using Fixbud under supervision of someone who is.
3. Accounts, free tutorials, and payment
You may use Fixbud as a guest or with an email-based account. Introductory free written tutorials are limited in number per person (currently two) — one person using multiple emails or devices to farm free tutorials is a violation of these terms. Paid tutorials are one-time purchases at the prices shown at checkout, processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Prices may change; the price you see at checkout is the price you pay.
4. Refunds
If a tutorial doesn’t help you, reply to your receipt email and say so — we refund in full, no questions. Refunds are our sole remedy — see section 8.
5. Your content, our content
Photos and descriptions you submit are used to identify your vehicle and damage and to generate your tutorial. You grant us the limited license needed to process them for that purpose. We do not sell your photos or use them in advertising without your permission. Your generated tutorial is for your personal, non-commercial use — you may keep, print, and download it forever, but not resell, republish, or use it to build a competing service. The Fixbud name, site, procedure library, and all service content are our intellectual property.
Third-party demonstration videos. Some tutorials embed publicly available videos created by independent YouTube creators, played through YouTube’s own player with attribution. These creators are not affiliated with Fixbud and don’t endorse us; the videos are not part of your purchase (your purchase is the personalized tutorial and our verification analysis). Where a video differs from your written tutorial, follow the written tutorial. Embedded videos remain subject to YouTube’s terms and may become unavailable if their creators remove them.
6. Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the service: no attempts to extract the procedure library, probe or overload our systems, automate bulk requests, circumvent free-tutorial limits or payment, or submit unlawful content. We may refuse or terminate service for abuse.
7. Honest limits of an AI service
We ground every tutorial in written procedures and design the system to refuse jobs that aren’t DIY-safe. Even so, AI systems can make mistakes — misidentify a vehicle or misjudge damage from a photo. That is why the interview asks you to confirm what we detected, and why section 2 matters. The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law: our total liability for any claim arising from or related to Fixbud is limited to the amount you paid us for the tutorial giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including damage to vehicles or property, cost of professional repair, or lost time, arising from your use of tutorials or the service. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations; in those places, these limits apply to the fullest extent permitted.
9. Privacy
Our full Privacy Policy is the governing document; in brief: we collect what the service needs to run: your photos and answers (to generate tutorials), your email if you create an account or purchase (stored with our payment processor, Stripe), and standard technical logs. We don’t sell personal information. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe. Tutorial copies are retained for quality review. For questions or deletion requests, contact us at the email below.
10. Changes and termination
We may update the service and these terms as Fixbud evolves; the "last updated" date above reflects the current version, and continued use after changes means acceptance. We may suspend the service for maintenance or discontinue features (your already-purchased tutorials remain downloadable as PDFs — download and keep them).
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, unless applicable consumer law provides otherwise where you live.
12. Contact
